Where are your products made?

Right here in the USA—from cotton field to finished 50x50.

Our newest collection starts with 100% USA-grown cotton from Texas, through our small-batch partner SOS From Texas. The cotton travels to partners in the Carolinas for sewing before our 50x50 designs are printed in Orlando, Florida by Real Thread, a Certified B Corp.

Our earlier collections include select USA-made styles from Royal Apparel, Gildan and Bayside, produced in American facilities across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and other states.

As 50x50 grows, we're committed to being thoughtful about the partners we choose and keeping our shirts rooted here at home.

After all, if you're going to color your way across a map of the USA, we think it's pretty fitting that the shirt carrying that story was made here, too.

What materials do you use in your products?

Cotton. The real stuff.

Our newest collection is made with 100% USA-grown organic cotton shirt bases, made in the USA.

Our legacy collection includes 100% U.S.-grown natural cotton shirts from Royal Apparel and Gildan, both members of the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol.

Our canvas bags are made by Bayside using 100% U.S. cotton and are made in the USA, too.

Across our collection, we choose natural cotton over synthetic performance fabrics — because what carries your travel story should be made with just as much care as the journey itself.

What does it mean that 50x50® is a registered trademark?

50x50® is a federally registered trademark in the United States. This means our name and brand are legally recognized and protected, reflecting our commitment to creating original, thoughtfully designed products rooted in authentic travel experiences.

Because 50x50 Travels is more than a product — it’s a long-term journey and a brand built on years of travel, storytelling, and intentional design. Registering the trademark helps protect that work and ensures customers know they’re purchasing from the original 50x50 Travels brand.

How does this benefit you, our customer? A registered trademark gives you confidence that:

To protect the integrity of the brand, 50x50® cannot be used without permission. It’s one more way we stand behind what we create.

How should I draw on my shirt or bag?

Doodle! Yes, it’s that simple. No need to press hard because the ink will run across the fibers. Give your design a light touch with small strokes and you’ll create a look that is truly yours.

What Markers should I use?

We hope you are enjoying kicking off your adventures with your starter marker, which is an acrylic permanent marker. We recommend sticking with something similar. Permanent fabric markers are also a good choice because they are designed for just this purpose!

A note of caution: we tested regular Sharpies, and they tend to spread through the cotton fibers and bleed. We don’t recommend them unless a tie-dye-ish surprise is part of your design plan. (You do you!)

How should I care for my shirt?

100% cotton is best when you give it space to breathe! When you wash or iron, do so inside out. Washing should be in cold water with a mild detergent, and avoid using bleach or fabric softener. Like all cotton clothing, it’s best to air dry or tumble dry on low heat.  Take care of your cotton and it will take care of you.
